Drywall Patch & Hole Repair in Bend, OR

Cut square. Floated flat.

Doorknob holes, plumber cut-outs, cracked corners and old patches that still show.

Cut clean, floated flat, textured to match.

Drywall Patches

How we go about it.

Patches are the specialty here. It is right there in the name.

Most calls start with one hole. A doorknob went through the wall, or a plumber left a cut-out behind.

Filling a hole is the easy part. The skill is in the finish around it.

A good patch sits flat, has edges you cannot find, and carries the same texture as the wall.

So each one is cut square, backed solid, taped, and floated out wide in thin coats.

Then the texture goes back on to match what is already there.

Small repairs can go quickly. Bigger ones need drying time between coats, so they take longer.

What is included

The scope, spelled out.

  • Holes of every size

From a doorknob dent to a section of wall cut back to the framing.

  • Trade cut-outs

Access holes left by plumbers, electricians and heating installers, closed up clean.

  • Cracks and corners

Cracked seams taped again. Dented or split corner bead cut out and replaced.

  • Old patches redone

Humps, ridges and seams that show through paint from an earlier repair, floated flat.

  • Dust kept contained

Sanding is the messy part. The work area is contained so the dust stays in it.

  • Texture put back

Orange peel, knockdown or hand trowel. The patch gets the pattern the wall already has.

How patches are done

Worth knowing

How big is the hole?

The size of the damage decides the repair.

A nail pop needs a new fastener and a skim. A hole needs new board behind it.

Anything soft or crumbling gets cut back until the board is solid.

When you send photos, put something in the frame for scale. A hand or a tape measure works.

That is usually enough for Danny to tell you what the repair involves.

Questions

Drywall Patches, answered.

More questions? Call (503) 991-3165.

Can you match the texture on my wall?

Yes, that is the specialty. The patch gets the same pattern the wall already has.

The texture matching page explains how.

How long does a drywall patch take?

It depends on the size.

One Google reviewer described a bathroom hole cut, patched and textured in under an hour.

Larger repairs need drying time between coats.

Should I send photos first?

It helps. Send one close photo and one from across the room.

Bigger repairs get a free viewing before the quote. Call (503) 991-3165 to set one up.

Will I be able to see the patch afterward?

The goal is that you cannot. The mud is floated out wide so there is no hump, then textured to match.

Once it is painted, it should read as one wall.
