Hand & Spray Wall Textures in Bend, OR
Light, medium or heavy.
New texture for whole walls and ceilings.
Sprayed light, medium or heavy, or put on by hand with a trowel, knife or brush.
Hand & Spray Textures
How we go about it.
New texture goes on a whole wall or ceiling at once, corner to corner.
It comes two ways. Sprayed from a hopper gun or texture rig, or put on by hand.
Spray texture runs light, medium or heavy. The mud, the air and the tip size decide which.
Hand texture goes on with a trowel, a knife or a brush. Each hand leaves its own pattern.
That is why one person should texture a whole room.
Texture is quicker than a smooth finish, and it hides minor imperfections.
Both are done here, with more than 35 years of experience behind them.
What is included
The scope, spelled out.
Spray textures

Hand textures
Skip trowel, hand trowel, Santa Fe, swirl and stomp patterns.
Whole rooms
Walls and ceilings textured corner to corner, with the pattern kept even room to room.
Ceilings
Ceilings are often textured even where the walls stay smooth. Say which you want.
Masking before spraying
Floors, windows, trim and fixtures are covered before the gun comes out.
A sample first
A test pattern on a scrap board, so you see it before the walls do.

Worth knowing
Sprayed or by hand?
Each texture is made a different way. The list below shows how.
Not sure which one you want? Send or bring a photo of a texture you like.
Or ask for a sample sprayed on a scrap board first. Heavier texture hides more of the wall under it.
New texture needs to dry and be primed before it is painted.

Often done with
What is the difference between orange peel and knockdown?
Both are sprayed. Orange peel is left as it lands.
Knockdown is a heavier splatter, flattened with a wide knife after it sets a few minutes.
Does texture hide flaws in a wall?
It hides minor imperfections, and heavier texture hides more. It does not replace taping and coating.
The joints are still finished first.
How do I choose a texture?
Send or bring a photo of a texture you like.
A sample on a scrap board shows the pattern before the wall gets it.
Call (503) 991-3165 to talk it through.
When can new texture be painted?
After it has dried and been primed. Heavier texture holds more mud, so it takes longer to dry.
Paint over unprimed texture can dry uneven.
